On May 1, 2015, the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Unit executed a search warrant on a residence in the 300 block of 8th Street East. Two occupants of the residence were arrested for Possessing Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking. Officers searched the residence and located approximately a small quantity of marihuana, over $6000.00 in currency, scales, packaging and other evidence of trafficking. The officers also located bags of illegal cigarettes that were also seized. A 55 year old male and a 52 year old female have both been charged with Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds obtained by Crime. Both were released to attend court on June 4th at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
