Drug Bust In Owen Sound

In the afternoon hours of Wednesday February 1, 2017, the Owen Sound Police Service executed two search warrants in the City of Owen Sound. The warrants were executed at two west side residences with the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Branch and the Drugs & Intelligence Unit.

The warrants were a result of an ongoing criminal investigation into a November, 2016 break and enter that officers from the Community Oriented Response and Enforcement Unit ( CORE ) had been investigating.

During the search, police recovered stolen property, three stun gun and brass knuckles. In addition, police also seized a small quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Two Owen Sound residents were arrested during the search warrant resulting in a thirty-four year old man and a thirty-five year old woman being charged with the following offences:

– Break Enter and Commit Theft

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

– Possession of Methamphetamine

– Possession of Marijuana

– Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (2 Counts)

Both accused were held for a bail hearing on February 2 nd , 2017.
