(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday January 25, 2014, around 12:30 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a RIDE program on Main Street West at Victoria Street in Listowel.
The officers stopped a Buick sedan and while speaking to the female driver detected the odour of marijuana inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of marijuana. The driver and the two other male adult occupants were arrested.
Emma POYNTON (22) of the Municipality of North Perth and Brian BURGESS (23) of Essa Twp have been charged with; “possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking – under 3 kgâ€, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on March 4th 2015 to answer to this charge.
Trevor HENRY (27) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with; “possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking – under 3 kgâ€, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and with “fail to comply with probation orderâ€, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He remains in custody and is to appear for a bail hearing at Stratford Bail Court on Monday January 25, 2015.
