(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON EAST, ON) On Friday October 03, 2014, shortly after the early morning arrest of a male motorist who failed to stop for police in Auburn, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers attended at a residence on Cranbrook Road in Brussels later in the morning and executed a search warrant.
Members of the OPP Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit, a West Region Canine Unit, OPP West Region Emergency Response Team Members and Huron and Perth County OPP Street Crime Units executed this warrant.
The execution of the search warrant resulted in officers locating marihuana plants, processed marihuana, drug paraphernalia as well as stolen property.
As a result of this investigation Shalene PETERS (27) of the Municipality of Huron East, has been charged with the following Controlled Drug and Substance Act offences;
– Possession of Marihuana for the purposed of trafficking
– Possession of Methamphetamine
She has also been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences;
– Breach of probation
– Possession of stolen property under $5,000 X2
She is to appear at the Wingham Court of Justice on November 20, 2014 to answer to these charges.
Michael COOPER (33) of the Municipality of Huron East has been charged with the following Controlled Drug and Substance Act offences;
– Possession of Marihuana for the purposed of trafficking
– Possession of Methamphetamine
He has also been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences;
– Breach of probation
– Possession of stolen property under $5,000 X2
– Breach of prohibition order X2
He remains in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
