(HURON COUNTY, ON) – On November 26, 2016 at 10:10 p.m. the driver of a Pontiac Pursuit tried to evade a RIDE checkpoint located at the intersection of Kinburn Line and Front Road. The alert officers noticed the vehicle turning around so they went after the vehicle and were able to stop the vehicle not far from the RIDE checkpoint. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted a heavy smell of marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and the driver was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marihuana. As a result a 27-year-old male driver from Huron East was charged with Possession of Schedule II Substance – Marihuana. He will have to attend court in January of 2017 to answer to his charge.
