Driver Ticketed Twice In One Day

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) -Many motorists who have been stopped by police tend to view the experience as a reminder of the importance of following the rules of the road. The dangers of excessive speed are well known, and these encounters are often enough motivation for drivers to slow down.

However, one driver was stopped by a member of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) this week, twice in one day. Around 7:40 a.m., on November 27, 2017, the driver was stopped in the Township of Perth East, travelling approximately 34 kilometres over the posted speed limit. Later that afternoon, the same driver was stopped in the Municipality of North Perth, travelling almost 30 kilometres over the posted speed limit.

Two traffic tickets were issued. With the onset of the colder weather, road conditions can quickly change. It is imperative that drivers obey the posted speed limits and adjust their driving with the weather.

Families in Perth County appreciate the ongoing efforts of our members to keep our roadways safe for our loved ones. Driving is a privilege; not a right and we must all do our part to arrive at our destinations safely.” Rob Scott
