(KINCARDINE, ON.) – On July 5, 2010 at 8:54 pm, the South Bruce OPP and Bruce County Ambulance were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision off County Road 4, Brant Township between Walkerton and Hanover.
The driver exited the vehicle, but left the engine running. The vehicle started to roll and struck the driver before coming to rest in the Saugeen River.
The 25 year old male driver was taken to Hanover Hospital, and then air lifted to London hospital with life threatening injuries.
The South Bruce OPP are investigating this incident with the assistance of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and the OPP Forensic Identification Unit.
The South Bruce OPP would like to recommend that all drivers consider turning off the vehicle engine before leaving the drivers seat in the interest of public safety.
