Driver Injured In Hwy 6 Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On January 31, 2018 at approximately 1:19 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) together with Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 6 between Minto Drive and Concession 5 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The lone driver was operating a van northbound on Highway 6 when she lost control of the vehicle which then struck a brick pillar at the entrance to a private laneway as well as a natural gas meter.

The Inter-Township Fire Department and Union Gas assisted at the scene. The vehicle battery was disconnected and the gas line was shut down as a precaution.

The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year old Hepworth woman, was transported to hospital via ambulance with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
