Driver Charged With Insecure Load – $390 Fine

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Thursday February 17, 2011, shortly before 7 p.m. the Perth County OPP was advised that motorists had driven into debris on Perth Road 119. The debris consisted of steel frames which may have fallen from a truck.

A Perth County OPP officer located an 18 wheeler on Perth Line 42 which was transporting steel frames on pallets that were improperly strapped down. A number of frames had fallen from the trailer onto Road 119 to the north and south of Gads Hill. No one was injured and there appeared to be no damage to other vehicles, the load was recovered and properly strapped down.

The 18 year old male driver from Wallenstein was however charged with having an insecure load on a commercial motor vehicle resulting in a $390 fine.
