Driver Caught Going 130 On Hwy 8

(HURON EAST, ON) – A male driver from Seaforth has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop that took place last week. Just before 6:00 a.m. on February 18, 2016 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Pontiac G5 speeding eastbound on Huron Road (Highway #8) through the village of St. Columban. The officer confirmed his visual observations that the vehicle was speeding by using a RADAR device. The speed of the vehicle was measured at a high of 130 km/h in a posted 70 km/h zone. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged.

Kristopher MEIDINGER, 32 years of age, from Seaforth has been charged with “Race a Motor Vehicle”. He has a court appearance scheduled for March 15, 2016 at Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich. His licence has been suspended for seven days and his motor vehicle was impounded for a week.
