(Innisfil, ON) On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, around 7:30 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Traffic Unit officer stopped a speeding car on 20th Sideroad in Lefroy. When the officer spoke to the driver, he noted the smell of alcohol. The man admitted to drinking 10 beers the previous evening. A roadside screening device test was conducted, and the man registered a WARN, indicating a blood alcohol concentration between 50 and 80 mgs. The 53 year old man’s driver’s licence was suspended for 3 days. He was also ticketed for the speeding offence.
South Simcoe Police remind drivers that only time will eliminate alcohol from your body. It can take up to 8 hours after consuming alcohol for it to be removed from your blood.
