On March 23, 2017, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a 22-year-old Waterloo resident was involved in a single motor vehicle collision on Notre Dame Drive in Petersburg. His 2003 Infiniti left the road and struck a tree and then a hydro pole. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol and speed are being investigated as factors in the collision.
