The Barrie Police Service has made an arrest in relation to a single motor vehicle accident that took place in the early morning hours of May 27th, 2015.
As previously reported, on May 27th, 2015, a single motor vehicle collided with a hydro pole at Blake and Nelson St. When officers responded, the unknown driver had fled the scene.
In the early morning hours of May 28th, 2015,the police investigation identified a male suspect and also led officers to a residential address in Stroud. Once on scene, members of the Barrie Police, assisted by members of the South Simcoe Police, located a male party hiding in the garage area of the home. He was taken into custody without incident at approx. 0145Hrs. The male party was taken to Barrie Police Headquarters and lodged in custody on charges of, Drive Disqualified, Take Motor Vehicle Without Owner Consent and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was held in custody pending a morning bail hearing.
