Drive Thru Employee Turns In Drunk Driver

At approximately 10:00 p.m. a lone driver and his dog showed up in a vehicle at the drive thru window of an eastside city restaurant. The tending restaurant employee became concerned that the customer had had too much to drink to be driving and then became even more concerned after seeing an open bottle beer secured between the driver’s legs.

The employee quickly brought the situation to the attention of the manager who contacted the Owen Sound Police. Officers arrived on scene as the driver was just pulling his vehicle on to the roadway.

The 24 year old male driver blew over twice the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.

The Owen Sound man will appear next week in Provincial Court to answer to the charges.

The driver’s licence is automatically suspended for a period of 90 days from the date of the offence and his vehicle towed and impounded for a period of 7 days.

The quick actions of this employee prevented this driver from continuing on his way with blatant disregard for the safety of others on our roadways.
