(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A 49 year old driver from Brantford is in the midst of serving a seven day driver’s licence suspension after he was caught driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C) in the warn range for the second time. At approximately 4:45 p.m. on April 20, 2015 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Mercedes parked on the side of Dashwood Road just east of Parr Line. The officer stopped to check on the condition of the driver and while speaking with the driver the officer noticed the male had been consuming alcohol.
Additionally, another officer located an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver completed a roadside screening test and his result registered in the warn range level.
Since it was his second warn range suspension the 49 year old driver from Brantford was served with a 7 day driver’s licence suspension rather than a three day suspension. He was also charged under the Liquor Licence Act for having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor.
