(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Monday December 01, 2014, shortly after the noon hour, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a hunting / trespassing complaint in the area of Road 141 and Line 4 between Woodham and St.Marys.
A property owner had contacted police after having confronted deer hunters that were trespassing on his land. Police arrived on the scene within minutes of receiving the call. However upon police arrival the trespassing hunters had already departed from the area. Officers patrolled the vicinity and spoke to other hunters. One officer located three male hunters who were sitting in a parked pickup truck along the road consuming alcoholic beverages.
The three hunters; a 28 year old Ottawa resident, a 29 year old Newtonville resident, and a 55 year old Kapuskasing resident were all issued tickets for “consuming liquor in other than licensed premises, residence or private place†contrary to the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario.
