(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) On Thursday May 30, 2013 at approximately 9:36pm, members of the County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting stationary radar on Highway 6 at 4th Line in the Township of Centre Wellington.
At this time and location, Constable Frank Thornton observed a northbound 1990 Acura. It was travelling well above the speed limit and police clocked the vehicle on radar at 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Drew LABONTE age 23 of Fergus is charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Court on July 17, 2013 to answer to the charge.
