(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) Perth County OPP officers were called to a collision on Sunday December 25, 2011 at around 6:30 p.m. The crash occurred on Line 37 between Stratford and Shakespeare.
Investigation revealed that a 33 year old Kitchener man was driving his GMC Yukon eastbound on Line 37 near Road 108. The cruise control on the vehicle was activated and as the vehicle started to incline a hill the transmission kicked in, causing the vehicle to go into a spin. The vehicle crossed the west bound lane, and just missed two west bound vehicles. It entered the north ditch and came to rest under a hydro tower.
The Perth County OPP wants to remind motorists to slow down on wet, icy and snow covered roads and to avoid using cruise control in these conditions.
