(Huron East, ON) At approximately 8:30 pm on December 8, 2010 a male entered the kiosk at JR’s Gas Bar in Brussels. The staff member went outside to check on a vehicle and when she returned inside, she located the male behind the counter with a number of items in his hands. She attempted to stop the male from leaving but was unsuccessful.
The male left the store and attempted to get rides from motorists while continuing to walk around in the area. All motorists refused him entry into their vehicles.
Huron OPP officers, including members of the OPP Emergency Response Team, arrived on scene and contained the area. Several residents called in to police to report the male trespassing on their property.
Donald WEBER (44) of Howick was soon located and arrested. He is now facing one count of Theft Under $5,000. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 7, 2011.
