Donald Vanderhaar – Drunk Driving – Three Times Legal Limit

(Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, ON) On August 30, 2010 at approximately 12:30 am, a Huron OPP officer was conducting stationary radar patrol on Blyth Road in Auburn. The officer observed a vehicle being operated in a manner to suggest that the driver may be impaired. The officer stopped the vehicle and upon speaking to the driver, made the assessment that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A vehicle search following the arrest yielded liquor and suspected cannabis marihuana.

The lone male occupant of the vehicle was arrested and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two samples of his breath. The test results indicated that the accused had over three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

As a result of the traffic stop and investigation, Donald VANDERHAAR (54) of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with one count of Impaired Driving, one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 18, 2010. LP10235557
