On Thursday October 9, 2014 at approximately 4:30 a.m. members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a Shanley Street residence in Kitchener for a reported assault incident. Once person inside the home received minor injuries. Upon arrival, a 21 year old adult male had barricaded himself. Police began a process of negotiation in order to provide the male with assistance. However the male refused and after a period of time, police gained entry to the home. The male was arrested and is being held for a bail hearing relating to several criminal charges including assault, uttering threats, weapons dangerous and assaulting a peace officer. The investigation is continuing by General Division detectives.
