(TOWN OF FERGUS, ON) On Tuesday March 12, 2013 at approximately 11:30 pm, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a domestic assault that occurred at a residence on St. Andrew St. W. in the Town of Fergus.
As a result of the investigation a 24 year old Fergus male was arrested and taken into custody. Further investigation revealed that the male was bound by a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He faces charges of Assault and Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Guelph court on March 13, 2013.
OPP do not release the names of accused persons in domestic violence matters in order to protect the identity of the victims.
