Barrie Police responded to a domestic incident on Marshall Street after 10pm tonight. The female victim was not very cooperative with police initially despite the fact that investigating officers observed redness on the right side of her forehead as well as redness on her neck and top of her chest. She finally did disclose that the accused, her common law boyfriend of a few years had slapped her in the face after they had a heated arguement about his past relationship and house bills.
The 44 year old female victim did not want to provide a formal statement and got quite upset when police arrested the 46 year old man for domestic assault. She did not require medical attention as a result of the assault. The accused was taken into custody and held pending his Bail hearing on the 8th of November 2013.
