On July 23rd, 2014 Barrie Police Service responded to an allegation of a Domestic Assault in a north-end apartment building. Officers attended and learned that a 53 year old Barrie man became upset because he felt his common-law wife was faking an illness. The victim alleged that at approximately 6pm her partner punched her in the head multiple times. The victim then went to bed. Just before 930pm the victim awoke when her partner pulled her out of bed. The victim immediately called Barrie Police who attended and investigated. The victim had minor facial injuries. Officers arrested the accused for Domestic Assault. He was later released with a future court date. The victim did not require medical attention.
