In recent break and enter cases across the region, thieves have been gaining entry into homes through unlocked interior garage doors. In some of the cases thieves have been opening the main garage door by accessing the remote entry left in unlocked vehicles. Residents are reminded to lock all of the doors that lead into your home, including interior doors that may lead to a garage. Residents should also make sure your doors on your vehicles are locked at all times.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7542, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips, or leave an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com or text your tip to CRIMES (274637) starting with the word YORK.
