Public Health continues to advise residents of Lake Rosalind and Marl Lake not to use the water for swimming or as a source of water for drinking, cooking, bathing or showering due to the presence of blue-green algae.
Domestic water treatment or boiling do not provide protection from blue-green algae toxins. Pets should also be prevented from entering the water and fish caught from the lakes should not be consumed.
Public Health is not endorsing the private lab results apparently clearing the lakes as being safe and free of blue-green algae and its toxins. The Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change will resample next week and the following week to determine if the lake water meets the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standard.
