On September 19, 2016 police responded to a break and enter at a residence on Indian Creek Road in Chatham where various tools were stolen from the garage.
On this same day, police attended a second break and enter in the same area where tools, alcohol, food and two firearms were stolen. The scene was examined and evidence was seized for forensic analysis.
On September 26, 2016 police recovered the firearms at a residence in Chatham.
On November 3, 2016 police received information from the Centre of Forensic Sciences that a DNA profile was generated and matched that of a local man.
Last night, police located the man and he was arrested. Matthew Buller, 31 years, of Duke Street in Chatham has been charged with two counts of break and enter, two counts of being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and four firearm related offences. He was released pending a future court date of December 15, 2016.
