Type: Impaired Driver & MVC
Locations: Paris Road
Incident: Early this morning (Tuesday, March 1, 2016) around 1am a 20 yr old Brantford male was operating a vehicle southbound on Paris Road at a high rate of speed. The male driver lost control of the vehicle, and then struck a cement light pole. Skid marks on scene can be seen for 139 meters in length. The vehicle was demolished during the collision. No injuries were reported.
Investigating off
icers determined alcohol played a role in the collision and a roadside screening test resulted in a Fail. The male was arrested and transported to the station and tests resulted in readings 1 ½ times the legal limit.
It was later learned that the driver was also a disqualified driver and was bound by a probation order.
The accused stands charged with Over 80 mg, Disqualified driving, Dangerous Driving and Breach of Probation. He is awaiting a bail hearing.
