Peel – On Tuesday June 28, 2016, a house explosion in the area of Hickory Dr and Dixie Rd. Mississauga caused residents to be evacuated and they were not able to return to their homes due to safety concerns.
Peel Regional Police are requesting those affected residents residing on Hickory Dr. to contact Peel Regional Police at 905-453-3311 ext. 1241 to confirm if they are able to return to their homes. A waiver for those allowed to return to their homes will be required. Affected residents who do not have a waiver will be provided a waiver at the police post located at the intersection of Hickory Dr and Hickory Dr up until 7:00pm this evening. Residents requiring a waiver after 7:00pm are asked to contact Mississauga Fire at 905-615-3009.
Residents with waivers from the Burnhamthorpe Community Centre are being asked to attend a police post located at the intersection of Hickory Dr and Hickory Dr. Residents are to present the waiver and photo ID to the officers at the post. The officer will then advise residents if they can return to their house with vehicle or on foot. For any residents who have the waiver but no photo ID, you will be escorted to your residence.
