(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Saturday August 13, 2016, shortly before the noon hour, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol in Listowel observed a male with a dirt bike in the area of Binning St. W. and Wallace Ave N.
While speaking with the male, the officer was given permission to query the dirt bike on the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) data base. The result of the check indicated that the yellow 2006 Suzuki 125cc dirt bike had been reported stolen from a residence in Morris-Turnberry Twp in April, 2016.
28-year-old Shawn James PINKNEY a resident of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer to this charge at the Listowel Criminal Court of Justice on September 7, 2016.
The dirt bike has been returned to the victim.
