Derick RADER – Drunk Driving, Drugs, Open Liquor etc.

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A male driver from Exeter will be without a driver’s licence for the next 90 days following a traffic stop that took place last weekend. At approximately 9:00 p.m. on June 6, 2015 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on Blackbush Line near Huron Street West. The officer wanted to check on the sobriety of the driver.

Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol.

A roadside screening test was performed which resulted in a fail for the driver. The driver was placed under arrest for Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. The driver and his vehicle were then searched incident to arrest. Officers located a quantity of marihuana and open liquor inside the truck.

The driver was then transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; Both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 37 year old Derick RADER from Exeter has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation on Plate, Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and Fail to Have Insurance Card. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on June 25, 2015. He also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
