(CENTRAL HURON, ON) On December 2, 2011 just before 4:00 p.m. an OPP officer conducting a RIDE check on London Road, Central Huron stopped a GMC pickup truck. The driver did not have his driver’s licence with him and initially provided a false name. Subsequent investigation determined the driver’s true identity and revealed the driver held a suspended driver’s licence.
As a result, Derek PLOURDE aged 47 from Strathroy, ON was charged with two counts of Drive While Under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. PLOURDE has a Provincial Offences Act Court date pending to answer to the charges. The pickup truck has been impounded for 7 days as per statute.
