Derek HUNT Caught Driving While Suspended Again

(HURON EAST, ON) – A 34-year-old Central Huron resident will be making a trip to court this May to answer to a Drive While Under Suspension charge following a traffic stop that took place in Huron East this past weekend. At approximately 12:50 a.m. on April 2, 2016 a Hyundai sedan entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint located at the intersection of Front Road and Kinburn Line.

As the investigating officer was speaking with the male driver he noticed the driver was holding a full can of beer in his hand. The beer wasn’t cracked and the driver was sober however when the driver was asked to provide a driver’s licence he was advised he didn’t have a licence. Further investigation revealed the driver was driving with a suspended driver’s licence.

As a result, 34-year-old Derek HUNT from Central Huron has been charged with Drive While Under Suspension. He will now have to attend court scheduled for May 31, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. His vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
