Denomme Sisters – Drunk Driving, Drunk In Public, Assault Police

(GODERICH, ON) – Just after 8:30 p.m. on February 11, 2013 Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to a call that originally started out as a traffic complaint. A witness observed a Chevrolet Blazer drive into a snowbank after mounting the curb on Victoria Street South. Two females exited the vehicle and were observed yelling at each other.

One of the females returned to the vehicle and took off driving southbound on Victoria Street. Officers were close by and were able to stop the Blazer on Britannia Road East.

Police spoke with the driver of the Blazer and determined she had been drinking alcohol. She was arrested for impaired driving and while being transported to the Huron Detachment she proceeded to damage a rear mounted RADAR device. Upon arrival at the Huron OPP Detachment she failed to provide two suitable samples of her breath to the Intoxilizer Technician.

While officers were dealing with the driver another patrol vehicle located the driver’s sister walking northbound on Victoria Street. Officers spoke with her and determined she was intoxicated. She was arrested for public intoxication and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment. At the detachment she assaulted two officers during the booking process causing a minor injury to the one officer.

The driver, Amanda DENOMME, 34, from Kitchener is charged with Refuse to Provide Breath Sample and Mischief Under $5,000. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 25, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

The passenger, Vanessa DENOMME, 34, from Kitchener is charged with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place, and two counts of Assault a Peace Officer. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 25, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
