(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has identified the driver that died in a single motor vehicle crash last night (13June) east of Dungannon.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. Huron OPP officers, Huron County Paramedic Services and North Huron Fire Department responded to the crash scene located on St. Augustine Line just north of Dungannon Road.
Investigators have determined the lone occupant/male driver was travelling southbound on St. Augustine Line when he lost control of his Ford F-150 pickup truck. His truck left the gravel roadway, rolled into the east ditch and came to rest on the driver’s side. The driver was ejected when the vehicle rolled.
The male driver died at the scene. He has been identified as William SHOWERS, 76 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place this morning in London.
Investigators from the West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Team responded to the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
