(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On February 12, 2017, at approximately 7:26 a.m., the Middlesex County OPP, Thames Centre Fire, and Middlesex London Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a single motor vehicle crash.
A black Chevrolet car travelling northbound on Elgin Road left the roadway and struck a tree on the east side of Elgin Road, south of Cromarty Drive.
The 58-year-old male driver was transported with serious injuries by ambulance to hospital, where he remains currently listed in fair condition.
The 65-year-old male passenger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Dennis WILSON, from Central Elgin, Ontario.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. As a result, Elgin Road was closed from Cromarty Drive to Mossley Drive until approximately 11:50 a.m.
This incident remains under investigation.
