(WAWA, ON) – On Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at approximately 10:15 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East (Hornepayne) Detachment began their search for a missing boater on Obakamiga Lake located in the Cholette Township.
An extensive search was conducted by members of the Superior East (OPP) along with the assistance of the (OPP) helicopter service and several family members and friends.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m. the (OPP) confirmed that they had recovered the body of the missing boater. The deceased male has been identified as Benjamin Mackay, 31-year-old from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.
