(SOUTH HURON, ON) – The discovery of a deceased person found on October 21, 2019 in Exeter has now been confirmed by police to be Quintin SMITH, 23 years of age from South Huron. He had been the subject of a missing person investigation that commenced a few weeks earlier in South Huron.
On September 23, 2019, members from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crime Unit, under the direction of Detective Inspector Pete Liptrott of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), commenced a missing person investigation after family members reported Quintin missing.
On October 21, 2019, he was discovered in Exeter in a wooded area near a steep embankment adjacent to the railroad tracks. He was found deceased underneath an all-terrain vehicle (ATV).
The subsequent investigation has determined the deceased died as a result of injuries sustained in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover crash.
