(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Thursday, August 27, 2015 at approximately 5:38 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with Grey County Emergency Services (EMS) and the Chatsworth Fire Department attended Walker Lake located on Veterans Road South in the Township of Chatsworth in response to a lone male who had fallen into the lake after his canoe capsized.
The male, who was not wearing a Personal Flotation Device (PFD), was recovered from the lake by the Chatsworth Fire Department, with the assistance of the Hanover Fire Department.
Mahmoud GHANNAM, age 49, of Windsor, Ontario was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem examination is to be scheduled.
(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – A post mortem examination was conducted on Friday, August 28, 2015 in Owen Sound. The cause of death was drowning.
