(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Ministry of Labour continue to investigate a sudden death that took place at Compass Minerals’ Goderich Salt Mine.
On Saturday, March 18th, 2017 at approximately 6:16 a.m. Huron OPP officers and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the salt mine located at 300 North Harbour Road in Goderich after receiving a 9-1-1 call for assistance.
The injured male was brought up to surface and was immediately transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Darcy CLANCY from Chepstow, ON.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled for earlier today.
