On September 16, 2015 police received information that personal documentation had been stolen from a vehicle in Chatham overnight. On this same date, an employee from Speedy Mart on Bloomfield Road contacted police to report a suspicious transaction involving a credit card.
Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.
Last night, officers located the man and he was arrested. David Murphy, 26 years, of Riverview Drive in Chatham has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and fraud under $5000. He was released pending a future court date of November 24, 2015.
