David MCGUFFIN – Drunk Driving, Run Stop Light

(GODERICH, ON) – A 67 year old male driver is facing charges of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Red Light – Fail to Stop following a traffic stop last night.

Just before 8:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted the driver of a Chevrolet Impala fail to stop for a red light at the intersection of Bayfield Road and Suncoast Drive. The southbound Impala was stopped a short distance away on Bayfield Road.

Upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician. Both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, 67 year old David MCGUFFIN, from Windsor has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Red Light – Fail to Stop. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 20, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
