(HURON EAST, ON) – A Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint identified another impaired driver this past weekend. Shortly after 1:30 a.m. officers observed a black Ford pickup leaving the Agriplex parking lot located on Duke Street in Seaforth. Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the driver was displaying signs of impairment by alcohol. He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Huron Detachment for breath tests. Both tests were above the legal limit.
As a result, David LEONHARDT, 37, from Huron East has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for May 6, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
