David HOWARD – Robbery, Breach, Etc.

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection to a pharmacy robbery that occurred yesterday evening.

On June 8, 2016, at approximately 8:10 pm, a lone male entered a pharmacy situated along the 400 block of Richmond Rd. The suspect walked behind the pharmacy counter and made a demand for narcotics. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of narcotics. There were no injuries. The suspect fled the area on a bicycle. Information was obtained that the suspect fled across the Champlain bridge. The suspect was located and arrested in Gatineau, along the multi-use pathway that parallels the Ottawa River, by Ottawa Police officers.

David HOWARD, age 30 of Ottawa, is charged with the following offences:

• Robbery

• Wearing a disguise

• Breach of probation (2 counts)

Mr. HOWARD will appear in court on June 9, 2016.
