The Owen Sound Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit has concluded another investigation resulting in the arrest of two persons in Port Elgin yesterday afternoon.
Detective Sergeant Jeff Fluney stated†Our Drug Unit and members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence in Port Elgin late yesterday afternoon. Small quantities of methamphetamine, marihuana, morphine and methadone were located in the residence along with evidence of trafficking. The male and female residents were taken into custody by the Saugeen Shores Police Service where they were held for a bail hearing on January 16th in Walkertonâ€.
David Carefoot, 33 years and Tiffany Johnson 24 years of Port Elgin have been charged with:
Possession of Methamphetamine for the purpose of Trafficking
Possession of Marihuana
Possession of Morphine
Possession of Methadone
Johnson has additionally been charged with failing to comply with probation.
“While Morphine and Methadone are both prescribed narcotics, possession of these drugs, as in this case, without a prescription is illegal. Drugs such as these, when abused, can be dangerous and highly addictive†Fluney stated
