(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – At approximately 11:15 p.m. on September 23, 2011, Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Base Line in Central Huron. Huron County Ambulance attended to a male driver and female passenger, both were treated for minor injuries. Upon speaking to the male driver an officer observed him to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Goderich detachment to meet with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician in order to provide two samples of his breath.
The results of the two tests confirmed that the driver had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Daniel GULUTZEN (33) of Morris Turnberry has been charged with one count of Drive With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, one count of Impaired Driving and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He will answer to his charge in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich at a later date. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days as per statute. LP11271043
