Dangerous Driver Arrested In Brussels – Name Released

(HURON EAST, ON) – It took a couple weeks but Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were able to catch up to a suspect that led police on a chase on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017. On that date around 3:00 p.m. Huron OPP officers attempted to stop the accused driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo eastbound out of Brussels on Newry Road. Officers activated their emergency equipment to stop the driver however he failed to stop and fled from police travelling southbound on Cranbrook Road at a high rate of speed. Police disengaged as they watched the driver dangerously sail through a stop sign at the intersection of Cranbrook Road and McDonald Line.

Officers knew the identity of the driver so they successfully obtained a warrant for his arrest and it wasn’t long before the driver and police crossed paths again. On June 8th, 2017 around 3:35 p.m. a Huron OPP officer spotted the wanted male in Brussels on Thomas Street. He was spotted walking with an open canister of beer. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
