The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 116 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 4 people were arrested.

Woman charged with Failing to Comply – CK15007307

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman for breaching her release conditions.

Police responded to a disturbance call in the Taylor Ave area around 12:00pm. A 19 year old female was located at the residence and police received information she was breaching her OIC release conditions by failing to notify CKPS of an address change. The female was arrested and charged for Breach of Undertaking and was later released with a future court date.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant – CK15007318

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant for a bail violation.

On February 25th 2015, the 31 year old Chatham man was arrested and released on a recognizance with several conditions, one stipulating he was to remain in his residence at all times except for medical emergencies, or unless in the presence of his surety. As a result of the man breaching this condition, a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was arrested yesterday afternoon on the strength of the warrant and held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for Intoxicated in a Public Place – CK15007395

Shortly after midnight, police responded to the Elephant’s Nest in Chatham, where a 31 year old male was found to be intoxicated in a public area. He was arrested, transported to Headquarters and later released.

Shortly after 1am, police responded to the area of the Lord Selkirk Bridge, in Wallaceburg, where another male was found to be causing a disturbance. As police found that he was also intoxicated in a public area, the 32 year old was arrested and transported to Headquarters, where he was later released.

Man charged with Driving Under Suspension – CK15007408

Shortly before 5am, a traffic stop was initiated on Churchill St., where it was found that the driver was unlicensed. The 27 year old male was charged with Driving While Suspended.

Police would still like to remind everyone to not get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol. Chatham-Kent Police officers conducted several RIDE programs throughout the evening in various areas of the Municipality. 1000 vehicles were checked, five violations issued and three 3-Day suspensions were issued.
