Daily News Release – Tuesday, March 31, 2015

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 113 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Two people were arrested.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK15008712

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants.

On February 16, 2015 police conducted a residence check to confirm the man was residing at the address stated on his release conditions. Officers spoke to the homeowner who advised that the man no longer lived there. Attempts were made to locate him, however when unsuccessful, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The man was also wanted on warrants for possession under $5000, theft under $5000, fraud under $5000 and failing to attend court.

Last night, the 39-year-old man of no fixed address was taken into custody in Windsor. He was transported back to Chatham-Kent pending a bail hearing.

Update: Stolen Vehicle in Wallaceburg CK15008558

The Chatham-Kent police have recovered a stolen truck in Wallaceburg.

As previously reported, sometime between March 28, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. and March 29, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) stole an unlocked 2013 black Ford F-150 truck from the CBD parking lot on Dufferin Avenue.

Yesterday morning, an observant citizen notified police that the truck was abandoned at the Elgin Street Park.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK15008698

Around 5:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Victoria Road in Thamesville.

Neither driver was injured. Total damage was estimated at $4000.

A 58-year-old woman was charged with careless driving.

Mischief in Chatham CK15008645

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for the public’s assistance regarding a mischief in Chatham.

Sometime over the past weekend, unknown suspect(s) cut the soft top of a convertible mustang parked on Richmond Street. Damage was estimated at $2500.
