The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 102 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Five people were arrested.

Police Execute Search Warrant CK15011046

Over the past week, police received information that suggested an extremely large number of high school students and other young persons were frequenting a specific address in Blenheim to purchase and use illegal drugs.

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrant. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of just under $4000 worth of marijuana, cash and digital scales.

A 16-year-old Blenheim youth was arrested and charged with trafficking and drug possession. He was released to a parent pending a future court date.

Wallaceburg Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15011013

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On January 13, 2015 the woman was charged with being a party to an offence. She was released with conditions pending a future court date. On April 10, 2015, the woman failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Yesterday morning around 9:00 a.m. the 19-year-old woman turned herself in to police headquarters. She was transported to the courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Duart Woman Arrested on Outstanding Warrant CK15011093

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.

On January 19, 2015 the woman was released from custody pending several conditions. One of those conditions stated that she was to report to the Chatham-Kent Police Service every Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. In March, the woman failed to report on three consecutive Fridays and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m. last night, an officer located the woman and she was taken into custody. The 24-year-old woman has been held pending a bail hearing.

Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere CK15011107

Early this morning, Chatham-Kent police conducted a RIDE spot check on Lacroix Street in Chatham.

40 motorists were stopped. One roadside test was administered. No one was arrested or charged.

Car Seat Clinic

Did you know that many car seats are not properly secured in a vehicle?

A community car seat inspection clinic will be held today at Victory Ford, 301 Richmond Street in Chatham between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Members of the Public Health Unit, Chatham-Kent Police Service and OPP will be there to assist with installing your car seat correctly.

This morning at 11:00 a.m. emergency services personnel along with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and Trillium Gift of Lift Network will be holding a press conference at CKPS HQ, 24 Third Street in Chatham regarding the ‘1 Saves 8’ Movement. All are welcome to attend.
